The Secret War Between Wizards and Muggles

Theory:

There is a theory that wizards and Muggles once fought a war in medieval times, and the Muggles won.

Evidence:

In Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, it is revealed that the Ministry of Magic must consult with the British Prime Minister about bringing a dragon into the country. This implies that the Minister of Magic reports to the Prime Minister and may require his approval for certain actions.

Additionally, wizards today seem to be much less powerful than ancient wizards like Merlin, the Peverells, and the founders of Hogwarts.

It is also possible that the Muggles were more successful in their witch trials and inquisitions than we originally thought.

Discussion:

What do you think of this theory? Do you believe that the Muggles could have defeated the wizards? Why or why not?

My thoughts:

I believe that the wizards did not want to fight the Muggles, and it was in their best interest to hide and avoid conflict. When the witch trials began, many innocent Muggles were killed, especially women who practiced herbalism or had knowledge of folk remedies.

To claim that the Muggles defeated the wizards is simply not supported by the power dynamics in the Harry Potter universe. In Harry's History of Magic textbook, it is mentioned that witches and wizards enjoyed the torture they were supposed to endure during the witch trials. One example is a witch who turned herself in 45 times to enjoy the spectacle of her burning. She fooled everyone into believing she was suffering, but she was actually laughing and then disappearing and returning later. This shows that the Muggles were not capable of killing or fighting wizards. However, the Muggles greatly outnumbered the wizards, so the wizards decided to end the war and accept living in secrecy.

This secrecy is part of the fun of magic and helps wizards learn discipline and avoid reckless behavior in front of Muggles. If wizards decided to reveal themselves to the world, the Muggles would likely become servants or die of shock from seeing strange things happening. The wizards were wise enough to avoid this and chose to remain hidden.

It is also worth noting that for every wizard, there were approximately 10,000 Muggles. This imbalance of power makes the idea of Muggles being stronger than wizards seem implausible. The notion that Muggles are superior to wizards is simply not believable.

Additional details:

The theory that the Muggles won the war against the wizards is based on circumstantial evidence and is open to interpretation.

There is no definitive proof that the Muggles were victorious in any conflict with wizards.

Some fans believe that the wizards simply chose to live in secrecy to avoid conflict and persecution.

Others believe that the Muggles were never a threat to the wizards and that the idea of a war between them is a myth.

Conclusion:

The theory that the Muggles won a war against the wizards is an interesting one, but it is ultimately up to each fan to decide what they believe.
